As a practising clinician and keen clinical researcher I have been trying to better understand what it is we are measuring when we measure inter-recti distance.
I have used my understanding of the literature alongside clinical experience including what I see on ultrasound imaging and I think there may be more to what we are actually measuring. Check out this video to hear and see why.
I hope to investigate this further via an exploratory research study, stay tuned!
Gráinne represented the Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP) when she co-organised this international event alongside colleagues from the American Physical Therapy Association specialist interest group for pelvic health to raise awareness of the fluctuating care provided to postpartum women around the world and to try and establish the minimum care standard care we should all be striving for.
